3) Tag your photo with the child’s name, grade, date, and title.
4) Share with family and friends or turn your Artkive into a book or other great products.
Is Artkive available for Android or just iPhone/iPad?
Artkive is available for iPhone/iPad and most Android devices.
I’m worried I’ve lost all of my art…help!
All of your art is safely stored in the cloud so anything successfully loaded into the app cannot be lost. If you lost your phone, just reinstall Artkive on a new device and log in using your credentials. If you’re having trouble logging in or getting an error message of any kind, please email Artkive Help and we will help you get it figured out.
Do I need to have an internet connection to use Artkive?
To ensure your images successfully load, we recommend using Artkive when on a wifi connection.
Can I Artkive old artwork that I have stored in boxes?
Of course! It’s easy to change the ages/grades/dates of anything you want
to load and save. If it’s too overwhelming to do it yourself, check out our
Artkive Box service.
Can I Artkive stuff other than art?
Of course! Using Artkive to save your child’s schoolwork or even just pictures of them doing everyday activities is another of the many ways to use Artkive. It’s a great way to visually capture your child’s growth.
How do I add a child to my account?
There are two ways to achieve this:
1) Through the app, go to the Account section, click “My Account” and then “My Family” and add as many kids as you’d like.
2) Through the website, login and access all of your settings through the settings wheel on the left hand side of the screen.
Can I get a refund if I don't want to use or keep my Artkive Book Credits?
No, once purchased, Artkive Credits are non-refundable.
What are Artkive Credits used for?
Artkive Credits can be used towards the purchase of books only.
When you purchase or receive book credits, they are automatically placed into your account and will be deducted from your book order total at checkout. There is nothing you need to do.
Do Artkive Credits expire?
The actual amount paid for Artkive Gift Credits that you purchase can never expire. The Promotional Credits that you receive as a bonus above and beyond the dollar amount paid expire 90 days after purchase. (For example: If you purchase a $100 Gift Credit for $85, $85 of it will never expire and the promotional $15 expires 90 days after purchase). Any promotional credits that you receive as part of a giveaway or sign-up incentive expire on the date noted in the giveaway but never to exceed 30 days from grant date.
May I combine promotional credits/offers?
No, any promotions we run cannot be combined with any other offers. If you are using Promotional Credits, you cannot layer on other specials or discounts we might be running.
How is this different than other photo apps I’m using?

Can I put more than 1 piece of art on a page?
No, each page features one piece of art. The books look really fantastic this way and feel more like art gallery books.
How do you handle cards, art that has multiple pages or art that requires images from more than 1 angle?
The best thing to do is ensure the art is in the same spread. Review your book and you can move art around to ensure the book spreads look the way you want. If you need help with this, email anytime and we’re happy to help.
How much do books cost?
Like all printing services, book pricing depends on length. We
charge $25 for the first 20 pages (images) and then $1/page
thereafter up to 100 pages. Pages 101-200 cost $.50/page.

How do I customize my book?
A lot of the book creation is done for you by our system. Once you choose which images to print, we create a preview of your book. You of course can move images around to change the order, select which info will print (i.e. name, age/grade, date, title) and more. We have an interactive book builder and preview tool right here at the website for your convenience. Just login to your account, select the images you want in your book, and press Build Book.
How long do books take to print and ship?
Printing a book takes 3-4 business days and shipping then depends on where you live. If you pay to expedite your book order, please note that this only impacts the shipping time. Printing still takes the same amount of time.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! We can ship anywhere in the world, however if you live outside of the US, Canada, Australia, or the UK we’ll need to help you get the order placed. Please email email@example.com and we can give you further instructions.
Can I cancel an order I’ve placed?
All sales are final and there are no returns.
A product I ordered arrived damaged, what do I do?
If a product arrives damaged, please take pictures of the product and box and email us immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to replace it for you.
Can I add additional pictures to my account for my book?
Yes, however they will only be included in the physical book if they meet our resolution standards of our print process.
What book sizes are available?
You may choose from two options: 8 x 8 inches or 8.5 x 11 inches. Both sizes are hardcover. Each book holds between 20 and 200 pages.
What is the difference between Artkive and Artkive Box?
Artkive Box – we do it. You receive a box to send us your artwork, we
professionally photograph it, edit the images, and build you a book to proof
(more info here).
Artkive – you do it. Create an account after downloading the app or at the website.
Take photos of your children's artwork, schoolwork, or any other memories you want to save. Organize photos by child and age and build and order a book when you are ready.
How does the Box service work?
1) We send you an empty Artkive box (or boxes if you ordered more than one)
2) You fill the Box with your children's artwork using the included Sort and Label sheet, and send it back to us using the prepaid UPS shipping label.
3) Once we receive the Box, we professionally photograph and crop/edit the art so that every piece looks fantastic.
4) When we are finished photographing your art, we'll send you an invoice for your 2nd payment base on how many pieces you send and how many book you want. See the price slider to estimate your price.
5) Your art is loaded into your Artkive account, organized by child and age.
6) You access your custom book proofs via the Artkive website to make edits and finalize your book.
7) If you choose to have your artwork returned, we will send back your Box. Otherwise, the artwork will be recycled.
How does the pricing work?
You initially purchase the Artkive Box shipping kit, which is essentially a starter kit. For $39, you'll receive the Box with instructions on how to
organize your art and a prepaid UPS shipping slip for when you're ready to send it back to us.
The pricing slider allows you
to estimate your remaining costs based on the amount of art you
send back in your box. That will be your total remaining balance
for us to digitize and edit every piece of your art, create your
Artkive Account for you to access all of your images in the future,
and build, print, and ship your hardcover books. All of those
services are bundled into the pricing seen in our pricing slider.
How many Artkive Boxes should I order?
Our boxes hold 300-400+ pieces of flat art, are 24x18x4, and you CAN combine different kids’ art in boxes as long as it’s separated by child and age/grade (if relevant).
Do not purchase more boxes than you need as the 2nd payment you'll make is based on the number of pieces of art you send and number of books you want, NOT the number of boxes you order.
Most people find that one or two boxes is more than enough to accommodate all their art.
How does your referral program work?
By creating an Artkive Account, you automatically are enrolled in our referral program. Just login at our website on a computer and you will be able to access and send your personalized code or URL link to anyone you want.
When someone uses your code to purchase an Artkive Box shipping kit, the purchaser receives a $20 discount on their purchase immediately, and you receive $20 that is deposited into your Artkive credit account.
These credits are usable towards (i) Artkive books, (ii) your second payment on any existing or future Artkive Box order, or (iii) a Framed Mosaic.
Credits may not be redeemed on the following: memberships, gift cards, or Artkive Box shipping kits (initial purchase). Your referral credits are valid for 1 year from the time they are earned.
Can’t I just do this myself?
Absolutely! It just depends on how much time you have to work on this project. Most parents are too busy, that's why we created the Artkive Box service. Once we receive your Box, your order is assigned to one of our digital professionals to properly light and photograph each piece of art. Our team of editors will then color correct and crop, as needed. We upload the finished images to your Artkive account, and create book proofs for your review.
With the press of a button, you can approve your books and send them to print. If you'd prefer to do it yourself, please get the Artkive app
I have more than one child, what should I do?
You can certainly send art for multiple children in one Artkive Box, just be sure it’s clearly separated and labeled. You'll receive our Sort and Label sheet both inside the Artkive Box and attached to your order receipt email.
Please include a separate sheet for each child. Keep in mind, each box fits approximately 300 pieces of standard size art.
What do I do if I have special instructions about the art I’m sending?
A Sort and Label sheet is included in the Box. This will help us identify what you're sending, and allows you to include any specific requests or instructions we should be aware of when processing your order.
We'll also be in direct email contact with you so you can always reach out if you forget something.
Can the art be put in a specific order – chronological or otherwise?
Yes, we are happy to accommodate, but please be sure the art is sent in the exact order desired, and make a note of this on the Sort and Label sheet that's included in the Box.
An additional fee may be assessed if we have to sort the art for you.
What is the best way to organize my art before sending it to you?
We will provide a Sort and Label sheet in the Box, and it will be attached to your order receipt email. You can use this to clearly label the art before sending it to us. You'll want to make separate stacks of artwork for each child using bags or folders, and within each child's stack, group the artwork in piles for each age or grade. Keep in mind, we cannot customize the default age/grade label options,
so you'll want to make sure the artwork is clearly labeled using ONLY the age/grade options on the Sort and Label sheet. (e.g. "John - Age 5", "John - Age 6", "Katie - Preschool Year 1", "Katie - Preschool Year 2", etc.)
What kind of art will you accept?
You are welcome to send anything that can be photographed: cards,
schoolwork, photos, trophies, pottery, 3D artwork, etc. Make sure
all fragile items are wrapped well to avoid damage during transit.
Also note, oversized and rolled pieces require extra time, and may
incur additional processing fees. If you have oversized art that
won't fit in the Artkive Box, please reach out to
for options to get it included in your book.
Can I make changes to my book before it goes to print?
Absolutely! We will email you when your book is ready to preview. You can access and edit your book on a computer by logging into your account.
You'll be able to make the following changes:
- Rearrange the book pages
- Crop and rotate images
- Edit the age/grade
- Add custom captions and dates
- Choose a cover image
- Edit the book title
There is no time limit, and you can save your changes along the way. Feel free to make as many changes as you'd like, and submit the book order when ready.

Can I get my art sent back to me if I want it?
Yes – when you are placing your Artkive Box order, there is a circle you can check to pay a fee and have your art sent back.
If you aren't sure whether or not you'll want the artwork returned, you can always email us once you receive your book preview to add this option.
How long does the Artkive Box service take?
Timing can vary due to volume of orders, shipping delays, and weather. For an

Can I cancel my order?
Artkive Shipping Kit purchases are fully refundable on the same day as your purchase minus a $5 cancellation fee.
Once your Artkive Shipping Kit has been sent, the $39 initial payment is strictly non-refundable.
Please note that Artkive purchases do not expire so they can be saved and used at a later date.
ONCE YOU SEND YOUR ART TO US, AND IT HAS BEEN PHOTOGRAPHED, YOU MUST PAY THE COST OF DIGITIZATION EVEN IF YOU CHOOSE TO NOT HAVE BOOKS PRINTED.
THE DIGITIZATION COST IS 40% LESS THAN OUR NORMAL, FULL PRICING AS SEEN ON THE PRICING SLIDER.
Can I add titles and dates to the artwork?
We will upload and label your images with the child's name and age/grade if provided.
Once the artwork has been uploaded to your account and your book proofs are ready, you are welcome to log in and add custom dates and/or titles before we print your book.

What if I just want my art digitized and no books printed?
Yes, we can do just the digitization of your art. This service will be
40% off the regular box price plus $25 for the USB that is used to send
you the images. Please see the price slider to estimate this cost.
Do I have to be a Member to use Artkive?
There are no fees associated with the ongoing use of Artkive and
storage of all your images until you have at least 40 images in
your account. Once you have more than 40 images, you will be
prompted to select a membership based on the benefits that make
the most sense for you. The Artkive Box service comes with 6
months free of membership.
If I want to get my images off of Artkive and stop using the service, how do I do that?
You can login to your account and download your images one at a time. If you no longer have access to your account, you can sign up for a month to month plan and maintain it for as long as needed. Once logged in, go to your pictures, mouse over an image and click the download button. You will then be able to download a high-resolution, untagged version of that image.
Do the credits that come with my membership expire?
Your credits expire 12 months after signing up. If you receive credits for paying annually for your membership, you will get new credits issued at the start of each billing period.
Can I use the discount that comes with my membership AND the credits at the same time?
When placing an order, any credits in your account are used first. Discounts are applied to any remaining balance. Credits and discounts apply automatically to book purchases only and are not applicable to other products or the Artkive Box service.
How do I see the benefits of my membership?
Log into your account and go to your account settings. In the Account Details drop down you will see an option called My Membership. Click on that option to see your account details.
How can I change the credit card on file used for my membership?
This can only be done through a web browser on a computer (cannot be done through the app right now). Log into your account and go to your account settings. In the Account Details drop down you will see an option called My Membership. Click on that option to see your membership details. Directly below those details is a green button that will give you access to your credit card on file and give you the ability to update that information.
How do I make changes to, or cancel my Artkive membership?
